RISE School has partnered with Firki (Teach for India) to train our teachers in teaching pedagogy and make them better teachers. Firki is India’s first and only Online Teacher Training Portal: a world-class, open-source blended learning program for teachers across India to access, use and transform their teaching practice.
Teach For India launched Firki, an open-source, free, online teacher-training portal which focuses on the why and how of teaching. Firki, in partnership with master teachers, pedagogy experts and teacher education programs aspires be the most effective and accessible route to a high-quality alternative certification for teaching in India. Firki is partnering with a number of prestigious education institutions, leveraging each organization’s carefully documented expertise in pedagogy and practice to translate, simplify and adapt to meet the needs of a teacher in an under-resourced school.
Through online learning, in-person training, 1-1 coaching and classroom observation and feedback, Firki helps teachers identify their strengths and leverage them to build an effective practice, leading to improved student outcomes. Master trainers from RISE School were trained by Firki team and our teachers get trained in modules like Lesson Planning, Independent & Guided Practice, Assessments, teaching values, etc.

RISE School was set up in a remote village where the requirement for a quality school was very high. A detailed survey was carried out in early 2000 and Samiyandipudhur village in Pollachi taluk, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu was identified as an ideal location to start a school for rural children as there was a need for a school which provide equal educational opportunities as their urban peers at affordable cost.
