Welcome to RISE School!

RISE India Trust and RISE School were established in 2002 to promote quality education in Rural India in and around Samiyandipudhur village. The School is located amidst serene coconut grooves in the foothills of the Western Ghats range. It is about 13 km from Pollachi town and 55km from Coimbatore (district HQ). The school was started as a Montessori school in 2003 with 4 children (and an ox cart to bring them to school!). Today, it provides both traditional and Montessori based education to 308 rural children in classes KG through Grade VIII. Most importantly, this education comes at a distinctly affordable cost.

RISE School is recognized by the Tamil Nadu State Government and is affiliated to the Matriculation Board (Reg. No 1038/A1/2018). The medium of instruction is English, though Tamil and Hindi are also taught. In addition to academics, students are trained in Yoga, Karate, Bharatanatyam (classical dance), athletics, life skills, gender equality and agriculture. Technology and innovative teaching practices are used to make learning fun. We want our children to be curious, self-driven and fearless, independent learners.

Enhancement of infrastructure and facilities requires significant investments each year. These are funded separately through support from philanthropists and donors, keeping the school fees nominal and affordable to the local families. Despite this, many of our students require further support by way of scholarships from the school. RISE India Trust has always endeavored to provide good schooling facilities to rural children without making it a financial burden on the parents.

Help Us Provide Quality Education to Rural Children

RISE School has been successful in providing quality education at an affordable cost only due to the support of philanthropists and generous donors. Without this support, any initiative to provide quality education to rural children would be difficult and unsustainable.
