Students can independently use internet to search for relevant information and download content from websites. The campus is WiFi enabled with a 3MBps internet connection. Tablets have been introduced to improve the English skills using specific apps and we are piloting to use tablets with Google classrooms to provide individualized lesson content, assignments and homework. We are moving towards having one tablet per child and leverage technology to facilitate self-learning and reduce the overhead for teachers by having assessments on tablets.

RISE School was set up in a remote village where the requirement for a quality school was very high. A detailed survey was carried out in early 2000 and Samiyandipudhur village in Pollachi taluk, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu was identified as an ideal location to start a school for rural children as there was a need for a school which provide equal educational opportunities as their urban peers at affordable cost.
